What is Natural gas?
Natural gas futures reflect a fuel market shaped by storage and seasonal demand. Commodity reference prices can differ by contract, delivery month, venue and currency. Check the exact product specifications before using a chart to plan a real trade.
What can move the price?
Use these topics to frame research, then check current primary data and company or exchange releases before drawing a conclusion:
- Weather
- storage reports
- LNG flows
How to study Natural gas
Start with a daily chart to locate the broader trend and recent volatility. Move to a shorter interval only after writing down the question you want the chart to answer. Compare a price move with weather, storage reports and lng flows; one candle alone cannot establish a cause.
Before a hypothetical entry, mark the level that would invalidate the idea, estimate the cash loss at that level and include spread, commission and potential slippage. Futures can be very volatile; contract expiry and roll matter.
Practice exercise
Choose three past moves in Natural gas. For each, record the date, the market event you would check, your chart observation and the possible risk to a position. Write down what evidence would have changed your view, without placing a trade.
